๐ชDream About Watching a Tornado Through a Window
You stood at the window. The tornado was out there โ massive, destructive, impossibly powerful. And you were inside, watching. The glass between you and chaos was the only thing keeping you safe.
Watching from a window is the dream of the observer. You can see the chaos but you are not in it โ yet. The window provides protection and perspective, but it is also a reminder of how thin the barrier is.
If the window was strong and held, your boundaries are working. You have created enough distance from the chaos to observe it without being consumed. This is healthy detachment.
If the window was cracking, the barrier between you and the crisis is failing. The chaos is getting closer to breaking through. What has been keeping you safe is not going to hold much longer.
If you chose to open the window, you are inviting the chaos closer. Maybe out of curiosity, maybe out of a desire to confront it. Opening the window is choosing engagement over observation.
If you turned away from the window, you are choosing not to look at the chaos. Not because it is not there โ but because watching it is making you feel worse. Sometimes looking away is self-preservation, not denial.
The window represents awareness. You know the storm is there. You can see its destruction. But you have placed something between yourself and the full force of it. The question is: how long can the glass hold?
