๐๏ธDream About a Tornado in the Distance
It was far away. On the horizon. You could see it clearly โ the funnel, the debris, the darkness. But it was not here yet. You had time.
A distant tornado is a preview. Your unconscious is showing you something chaotic that exists in your world but has not arrived at your location. Maybe it is approaching. Maybe it will veer away. The distance gives you something the close-up does not: time.
If the tornado was stationary, the chaos exists but is not moving toward you. A crisis in someone else's life that you can see but are not affected by. A global situation that is real but not yet personal.
If the tornado was approaching slowly, you have time to prepare. Not unlimited time โ but enough. Your unconscious is giving you advance warning with enough lead time to find shelter, make plans, or decide what to save.
If the tornado was moving parallel to you, the crisis will pass by without hitting you directly. Close enough to feel the wind. Close enough to see the damage. But not directly in your path.
If you could not tell if it was approaching or receding, the uncertainty itself is the stress. You do not know if this is coming or going. The not-knowing keeps you in a state of alert that exhausts you even though nothing has happened.
Distance is a gift. Use it. Your unconscious is not showing you the tornado to scare you โ it is showing you the tornado while you still have time to prepare.
